Jack is 2-1/2 years old and came to us as an owner surrender from a family that loved him very much. So much that when they were evicted from the home he grew up in and they ended up in an apartment that did not allow pets, they kept him in their car (with AC running) and out of landlords site for as long as they could. It was stressful for all so Jack came to BRLA. He had lived with other dogs in the first home (all had been rehomed), where they were likely not walked to build social skills with new dogs. Our team is doing a good job helping Jack be more comfortable in the outside world. He now walks with other BRLA Boxers now but can still be insecure / selective as his confidence building is a work in progress. Jack is not a fan of cats so a cat free home is important. He exhibits some anxiety so would benefit from a home with someone around more than not. Another dog that can serve as a mentor in the home may be a possibility but perhaps being the only dog in a home with humans who have the time to help him settle and be confident in the world first may be best. Jack was very loved by his family and he has such a loving soul. It's his emotional insecurity that once built up will have Jack being the perfect canine companion. He has been around kids of various ages. He knows some commands like sit and shake and is ready to learn everything once in the right home.
