Ezra was found running loose very near a freeway onramp. He was taken in by good folks that had other dogs at home. Ezra was not neutered and somehow one of their dogs ended up having puppies that looked like Ezra. He was posted as free to good home on Craigslist and a couple that had always wanted a Boxer took him home. After a few days, they realized that he was not the right starter Boxer they hoped for so they asked us to find him a home where he would get the training he needs. Now at BRLA, first order of business is being neutered. Ezra is a high spirited boy that is about 1-1/2 years old or so. He has a very energetic way about him but is learning more focus. We have started to work with him on better leash manners, better social skills with others and most importantly to keep "four on the floor". Ezra jumps on people when excited. We are working on impulse control as he tends to get over excited and forgets his manners. His overexcitement can lead to reactivity out in the world at times which requires a strong leader with solid training experience. An adult only home will provide him with the best environment to continue working on impulse control. Ezra is super treat motivated and would love a home that loves to train. He will be a great project for the right home that can provide him the leadership he needs. He is crate trained and housebroken and loves toys, especially those he can play fetch with. He is a very good retriever and will bring fetched items back to you. He would do best as the only dog in the home to not be distracted from learning his basic manners. Or perhaps a very balanced mentor type dog that will be patient/ tolerant with his impulses. He does know sit and will work for food. This Boxer ball of energy will be a great boy in the right hands capable of getting him on track with training. And keeping him on track.
