Colt is a 3 year old boy that came from the Riverside shelter. He came in with two other Boxers that he was comfortable with. It seems that Colt did not have a lot of experience in the outside world. He is going on walks with BRLA volunteers and is doing better. Colt gets scared of loud noises, he can be reactive to new dogs and some people so there is work to be done at home. Inside our kennel he is more relaxed. The right home for Colt will have extra confidence and experience with behavior modification training that will make him feel safe while he builds his own confidence. He is getting a little more comfortable seeing new dogs out in the world but he would do best going home as the only dog to build balance. His new home must be committed to working him through his reactivity
Older kids are recommended due to his own fear of some things.
What Colt needs most is someone with time and talent to help him put down roots and learn to be a dog. Just a dog.
