Bruno is about 5 years old and hoping to land his forever home. He has lived in a total of 3 homes including his original home that got him as a puppy. He joined the family with a female Boxer at home that was like his mom. She died and he was sent to a 2 week board and train which gave him solid obedience but also a little PTSD possibly from training methods. He is very smart and loving boy but still has some insecurity and needs to work on impulse control. In the right environment: good leadership, no other dogs and no kids he can be a love bug. But his continued struggle with finding balance and control will take a very specific home. He has come a long way. He can now walk next to some dogs. He is learning better self control but when too close or in contact, should there be play engagement, the excitement can overwhelm him to impulsively switch to reactivity. He has been able to progress due to our controlled environment and solid routine.
Bruno can be the sweetest guy with that big adorable head of his. But he is unsure and when out in the world his insecurity can become fear reactivity and mouthy.
When Bruno goes home it has to be to a home that fully understands he needs a slow step by step acclimation to his new life. You cannot rush his process to feel safe and trust you. He mostly needs a confident leader that he can put all of his trust in to feel safe and follow the lead.
He is housebroken and crate trained. Strong, calm confident leaders are a must for this well trained boy that needs emotional stability. Investing in the time to do things the right things will reveal a sweet devoted boy. But no shortcuts, he will succeed when provided calm first days followed by routine first weeks and months of stability from a good leader to become a lifetime family member
