Chico is a 2-year-old Boxer mix owner surrender after his mom sadly passed away. He was taken in by an acquaintance to foster until adopted. In his foster home, with another dog, Chico has proven himself to be a happy, social dog who enjoys the company of both people and dogs of all sizes. He is housebroken. We are not sure what Chico mixed with, but if we had to guess it would be Boxer/Shepherd. A wonderful playful & intelligent combination.
Chico enjoys being active, spending time with his people, and participating in everyday adventures. While he has many natural qualities that make him a great companion, he would benefit from some basic obedience training to help polish his manners, build confidence and set him up for long-term success. He is eager to engage and will do well with positive reinforcement and consistent guidance. He currently can be anxious on car rides so some good practice and positive association will soon have Chico enjoying road trips in no time.
Chico has done well with children and would be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a fun, affectionate, and social dog. Especially with a work-from-home or full-time mom scenario. Whether joining a home with other dogs, kids, or active adults, Chico is ready to bring plenty of love, laughter, and companionship to his next chapter. Overall, he is a sweet-natured young dog with a bright future ahead of him and will make a fantastic addition to the right home. He is truly a diamond in the ruff.
