Tanner is a Boxer mix who was adopted from BRLA when he was just a year and a half years old. He was a happy go lucky boy who enjoyed other dogs and all people. Five years later and his social skills were not kept up with dogs outside the home. Inside his home he lived with a small dog that ruled the roost. He also lived with some cats and kittens. He does the best with the kittens. There were kids in the home and he is great with them. Having lost his social skills Tanner accidentally got out a gate that was left open and had an incident with neighbor dog. His single mom sadly realized she could not provide Tanner with a home that suited him best. He is back at BRLA and withing the first week back we were able to have Tanner around other dogs. He wants to be social again and just needs humans that can nurture the positive and avoid the negative. He is such an earnest loving boy. What Tanner needs is an experienced home that can keep working him back to being that happy go lucky dog he once was. He is housebroken just needs a stable leader in his life and to be the only dog in the home for now. Hello kitties!
TeamBRLA Notes: Tanner has the most expressive face! He is a sweet boy who really, really wants to make you happy. He just doesn't know how to yet! We are working with him on becoming more comfortable with dogs out in the world. He is a big gentle giant with humans. He feels the most comfortable meeting dogs through a fence - which is interesting, but we are trying to get him feeling confident out in the world.
