Stoli originally came from the Apple Valley shelter and we rescued him when he was just about a year old. He spent time with a partner rescue that had him around dogs, kids, horses and cats. He was great. Stoli was adopted 2 years ago and things soon were no longer so great for him. He lived in an apartment which meant every time he needed or got to go outside was on leash in a high traffic area. He lost his confidence which was replaced by insecurity and reactivity. He was finally returned and we immediately began working him to regain confidence out in public. He was such a good boy and day by day we are seeing the good replace the not so good. Stoli is now 3 years old and he really needs confident humans to guide him calmly through life. He can still have spontaneous bursts of insecure behavior (barking etc) but he responds really well to positive redirection with a confident handler. He is great with all people large and small. Baby steps for Stoli, our sweet boy with the butchered ears who is working his way back to being the good boy he was 2 years ago.
