Junior is about 4-5 years old. He is an great boy in a controlled environment. He is a volunteer favorite having become comfortable with a solid routine and consistent leadership.
The right home for Junior will be one that can share with us their experience of working with dogs to resolve behavior challenges. You must have a history of successfully rehabilitating a large breed dog that may have had lack of bite inhabitation in the past. Junior is an amazing active guy that will need an owner with the highest level of training abilities and fearless confidence. He does well with someone who also loves structure and routine.
He came to BRLA as a youngster who had already been given all the power in his first home. Junior started resource guarding at a very early age. He is so smart and fun loving but has a history of guarding things like food, possessions, etc. which can be a liability in all but the most experienced hands that know how to deal with this. At BRLA he is a good boy because he does not own anything. In a home situation it will be very important to provide a very strict routine and provide Junior with a controlled environment where he can thrive.
He loves toys, especially Jolly Balls. He loves our kiddie pool and will splash around forever. He has many Boxer pals at BRLA that he goes on power walks with and enjoys social time. Junior has been adopted and returned in the past due to his resource guarding. We know there is the right person(s) out there that can be the leader that Junior will love and respect and grow old with. An adult only home for sure and perhaps the only pet in the home will set the stage for success for Junior. He deserves someone to love.
