Junior will require an adopter that is very experienced with working with dogs to resolve behavior problems. You must have a history of successfully rehabilitating a large breed dog to qualify. Junior is an amazing active young boy that will need an owner with the highest level of training abilities and fearless confidence. He came to BRLA as a youngster who had already been given all the power in his first home. Junior started resource guarding at a very early age. He is so smart and fun loving but has a history of guarding things like food etc. which can be a liability in all but the most experienced hands that know how to deal with this. At BRLA he is a good boy because he does not own anything. In a home situation it will be very important to provide a very strict routine and provide Junior with a controlled environment where he can thrive. He loves toys, especially Jolly Balls. He loves our kiddie pool and will splash around forever. He has some Boxer pals at BRLA that he goes on power walks with and enjoys social time. Junior has been adopted and returned in the past due to his resource guarding. We know there is the right person(s) out there that can be the leader that Junior will love and respect and grow old with. An adult only home for sure and perhaps the only pet in the home will set the stage for success for Junior. He deserves someone to love.
TeamBRLA Notes: Junior loves being out in the pool, splashing around or having fun with the hose! He is such a water dog and the more exercise he gets the better. His potential human has to be able to control any opportunity for him to think of resource guarding.
