Junior has the habits and ways of many a young Boxer boy. He is active, loves to play and needs training. He's got the basics down, like sit and stay. But what Junior needs is a home that understands and will help him avoid resource guarding situations. He was an only child of a single girl when surrendered. He got away with anything and everything. At BRLA, where he has no belongs he a good boy. In a home, if allowed, he may not want to give up things, like bones, toys, etc. The perfect owner for Junior will understand the "alternative" training method where the command "leave it" is key to his not taking ownership of any resources. He is such a fun loving guy but he needs lock down leadership to succeed. Junior is not reactive to other dogs but he would likely do best as only dog in an adult only home to really focus on training and learning to share. To see Junior run, play fetch and have fun is a joy to behold. Junior is about 3 years old. Resource guarding can result in unwanted behavior including biting. Junior needs an owner that understands the responsibility and liability. He deserves to find a home that can help him succeed.
