Jockey lived with his younger half brother Apollo and both boys were very loved. Life was grand for the first 3 years but life happens. Their family experienced many changes; baby was born, dad was deployed, mom working full time which left them on their own too much. Their owners did everything possible to keep them but with everyone gone all day, they were not getting the attention or engagement they needed and deserved. They had too much time on their hands so got into things out of boredom and became protective of their space.. Surrenders are hard and this one was very hard but in the end the decision was made for love.
Now at BRLA Jockey is the more sensitive and thoughtful boy. The stress of being in a kennel is hard on him. He is 5 years old and walks well on leash . He is remembering that he can likes dogs. It will take some time to fully re-enter life but you can see him blooming. We are taking things one step at a time to not be overwhelming.
It would be wonderful to keep Jockey and Apollo together but they have done well individually and could also bond with another dog.
Jockey lived with a kid and is ready to join a family that he can settle down for life with and learn to fully relax and enjoy the good life again.
