Apollo lived with his older half brother Jockey and both boys were very loved. Life was grand for the first 3 years but life happens. Their family experienced many changes; baby was born, dad was deployed, mom working full time which left them on their own too much. Their owners did everything possible to keep them but with everyone gone all day, they were not getting the attention or engagement they needed and deserved. They had too much time on their hands so got into things out of boredom and became very protective of their home. Surrenders are hard and this one was very hard but in the end the decision was made for love.
Now at BRLA Apollo is the more outgoing one. He is 4 years old and walks well on leash . He is remembering that he likes some dogs. It will take some time to fully re-enter life but you can see him blooming. We are taking things one step at a time to not be overwhelming.
It would be wonderful to keep Jockey and Apollo together but they have done well individually and could also bond with another very balanced dog.
Apollo is great with kids and is ready to join a family that he can settle down for life with and regain his confidence in the world and not be protective.
