Rex is about 2-1/2 years old and came to BRLA as an owner surrender when his owners landlord would no longer allow him to stay. He had lived there since given to his dad as a birthday gift when he was a puppy. He lived with a 5 year old female German Shepherd and another female mix. The dogs were outside dogs spending days hanging out in the yard and nights sleeping together in a dog house. There were a couple of cats that wandered in and out of the yard without being bothered by Rex. The owners daughter used to bring her kitten over and used to have the cat chase the light. It's a bad habit that Rex picked up and we are trying to redirect him to focus on handler rather that be constantly looking for the light, reflection or movement when outside. Inside away from light source, Rex is showing us who he is which is a very sweet boy. He is good with other dogs. Was around kids in his previous home and is respectful. With some time a training Rex will let go of searching for the light and focus on becoming his best self.
