Animal Planet is providing a unique and exciting opportunity to recognize someone who is a Hero to animals and animal lovers.  This is a write in campaign where your personal experience with BRLA and your adopted Boxer(s) is all it takes.  Take a minute to see how a few words from you about your BRLA experience could land us a $10,000.00 donation.

With 31 years of Boxer Rescue LA under her belt and thousands of Boxers that have found homes from her efforts, Ursula Sauthier, founder of BRLA is definitely a Hero in the eyes of Boxer.  By submitting an entry you can help make her the Animal Planet Hero of the year and earn a much needed donation for BRLA.

• The Animal Planet Hero of the year will win a $10,000.00 donation for their cause.
• The person who submits the winning nominating entry will also be rewarded with a $1000.00 cash prize.
  

Animal Planet describes this contest as follows:
The Contest has been established by Animal Planet to recognize people who have demonstrated extraordinary service in time, effort and results for a cause that contributes to the welfare of animals. If you or someone with whom you are personally acquainted deserves the title of Animal Planet's Hero of the Year, write a Nomination Statement telling us why. If the person you are nominating has contributed specifically to the welfare of cats, you may also submit your Nomination Statement to be judged in a special Cat Hero Award category.

From the entries that are submitted (DEADLINE JULY 19) Animal Planet will select 10 finalists. These finalists will have a TV crew do a short piece on them and their cause. A special Animal Planets Hero of the year show will feature all 10 finalists and the winner will be determined by popular vote.

Just becoming a finalist can mean more support for BRLA so please enter today.

First we need you to write your entry of 250 words or less describing your experience with Ursula, BRLA and your adoopted Boxer.  Here is what the judges will be looking for:

How will the winners be determined?
Initial judging will be conducted by a panel of judges under the supervision of the Contest Administrator, an independent judging organization, and based on the following judging criteria:
- Level of commitment to the cause, including time devoted – 30% of total score;
- Level of accomplishments and impact of the actions – 30% of total score;
- Inspirational value of the actions on others – 20% of total score;
- Sincerity and credibility of the statement – 20% of total score.
The ten nominees receiving the highest scores will be declared the potential Finalists. In the event of a tie, the nominee with the most unique story, in the judges' sole opinion, will be named a Finalist.
