We have a policy at BRLA that if someone who adopted one of our dogs finds themselves in a position of not being able to keep their Boxer, they come back to us to make sure they find another home. . It’s cases like Jack and Jill who were adopted 4 or 5 years ago and now find themselves back at BRLA because their family lost their home that test our commitment. They may not be thrilled to be back but at least they are still together. We promise they will always stay together.
They were not spring chickens when they were adopted at about 4 & 5 years old. They were lively, spunky and we helped their owners through keeping them from jumping the fence and taking off on adventures. Even with their minor challenges Jack and Jill were loved tremendously by their family. They helped raise the kids and were fully integrated family members. Their family kept in touch with BRLA through the years to give us happy updates. Recently we got an update that was anything but happy.

Jack and Jill’s family had their home go into foreclosure. They hung onto the pair for as long as they could trying to figure out a way to keep them. The economy got the better of them and they brought them to BRLA for safekeeping until they can once again join a family.
These two absolutely adore each other. There is not a stronger bond between two dogs. Jack is a hugger and loves people with great enthusiasm. Jill is a happy go lucky girl who depends on Jack as her ears as she is deaf. You would never know she can’t hear as these two interact seamlessly from years of being together. They are now about 8 and 9 years old and would love to have the freedom of lounging in a home together again.

They are no longer fence jumpers. They are more into just hanging out. They do enjoy a nice walk even with Jack’s backside that is weaker than it was years ago. They are currently living among a bunch of yappy dogs and couldn't care less. Jack does still like to chase cats. Nothing hold them back as they love life. They especially love life together.

They are fantastic with kids. They are completely housebroken. They are trustworthy in your home and do not chew your possessions. They are simply a couple in their golden years looking for a small spot in someone’s life with a patch of grass in the sun.
There is something very special about adopting a senior or two. They are grateful, easy and filled to the brim with love. Jack and Jill are ready to go home again....they can hardly wait.
